FocusHour helps students prepare for the SAT and Pakistan's university entrance tests, on a tablet, on the phone (focushour.app) and with a weekly report for parents. This page says what we keep, why, who else sees it, and how to delete it. In short: we keep what's needed to teach and to report on the work, we don't show ads, we don't use analytics or tracking tools, and we don't sell anything about anyone.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address and name, and your Google account if you sign in with Google. When you sign in we keep a session, with the device's IP address and browser or app details, so you stay signed in.
- Your practice: each question you answer, the choice you made, how long it took, the help you used, and your notes after a class; your mock papers and their scores; how far you've climbed on each practice ladder.
- Your working: the pen strokes and handwriting you write on the tablet, the screen as it was when you answered, and the screens the coach looked at when you asked it for help.
- Focus and use: when a session starts and ends, when you leave the app or pause, and which lesson films you watched and how much of them played.
- Your device: its model, operating system and app version, so we can fix problems.
- An access request: if you fill in the form on focushour.app, the name, email, role, tests, test month, device and note you give us, and a daily-changing scrambled form of your IP address to stop spam.
Before you sign in, practice on focushour.app is kept only in your own browser.
Why
To teach: to choose the next question at the right difficulty, to show you where marks went and why, and to let the coach see your working when you ask for a hint. To report: a parent's weekly report is built from this work. To keep the service running: signing in, syncing between your devices, and fixing faults.
Who else sees it
Nothing leaves our service except to do these jobs:
- DeepSeek (an AI service) receives the question, your chosen answer and a picture of your working when you ask the coach for help or it reviews your answer, and your first name with facts from your week to write the short summary in a parent's report.
- Resend sends sign-in codes, so it receives your email address and the code.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Cloudflare hosts our servers, database and files, so everything above is stored there.
A parent sees the weekly report about their own child. Our team can see the data to run the service and write those reports. Nobody else does, and no one else's data ever appears in your report.
Keeping it, and deleting it
We keep your data while you have an account, so your progress carries on. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time:
- On the web: sign in at focushour.app, open Your account and choose Delete your account.
- In the app: open your account and choose Delete account.
- Or ask us: email hello@focushour.app from your account's email address, and we'll delete it.
Deleting removes your account, your practice and answers, your handwriting and screens, your progress, the films you watched and any access request, from our servers straight away. It can't be undone.
Students and parents
FocusHour is made for students preparing for university entrance, usually 15 to 18 years old. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent's or guardian's agreement. A parent who wants their child's data deleted can ask us at hello@focushour.app.
Security
Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS). The apps contain no secret keys: the coach is reached through our own server. Access to the data is limited to the people who run FocusHour.
Changes and contact
If this changes, we'll update this page and its date. Questions or requests: hello@focushour.app.
